He put the man into the church of Crossboyne and got six big tubs of holy water and put the man in the middle of them and he told him when he would see the ghost coming to throw holy water on him. At about twelve o clock the ghost came bursting through the roof. The man who was alone in the church began throwing holy water on him.
The ghost was going round and round the tubs but he could not touch the man. He stayed like this all the night doing his best to catch the man. The cock crew at day break and the ghost disappeared and was never seen after that.
