- We have the following animals; three cows, four heifers, three bollocks, three calves, one horse, and one donkey. The cows have got names; the polly cow, the yellow cow, and daisy. When we are driving the cows out into the field we say, How! How! When we are calling the calves into the stable we say "Suck, Suck"! and sometimes we say, "Bett, Bett"! The cowhouse is called the stable. The cows are tied every night. They are tied by putting a chain round the cow's necks, and then putting the chain round a post or a stake. Sometimes the cows are tied by the horns or lego when they are cross.The tyings are sometimes made of straw, because if you tied a calf with a chain he might hurt himself.
