  2. It is a custom among some people to leave the door open and the candles lit on Christmas night. They used to say that the Blessed Virgin came into some houses that night. The door was left opened and the candles left lit so that the Blessed Virgin would come towards the house. Some people used to stay up that night to see the Blessed Virgin.
