  1. There are four corners on my bed.
    Four Angels on them spread.
Matthew, Martin, Luke, and John, God bless the bed which I lie on.
If I die before I wake, I hope to God my soul He will take
As I lie down on my right hand side I pray to God to be my guide and if any evil come to me Blessed Lady waken me.
Waking now and ever I give my soul up to the great God for ever and ever Amen.
This is a prayer the people said long ago when they were going to bed.
