In some places stones are heaped up to mark the place where somebody was killed. There is a tradition that during Penal Days, Mass was said in this district. The place where it was said is called, "Cloch a thógháil. It is situated in the townland of Mourneen. It is also situated on the side of a hill so that the English would not know it.
