  1. Once upon a time before the "Trimóig" river was sunk there was a "ceis" across it. This "ceis" is called a "clochan". The people of Aughamore who live near the river used to cross it and come through Culmore when going to Kilkelly at that time.
    It is said that a woman - one of the "good-people" - used to appear on the "clocháin." She used to be beetling clothes on a stone. At night-fall she used to start work. The sound of the beetle could be heard by the villagers. This woman was known as "Cailleach an Clocháin."
    One night a man was going from Culmore to Aughamore. When he was a little distance from the "Clochán" he saw the woman at work. He did not like to turn back so he stooped his head and
