- There are many forts in the parish of Carracastle. The one my mother heard of is in Curragoola.
There are over ten forts in the school district. Liosaphostha is supposed to be haunted. It is in Toanroe in James Parson's land. My uncle told my mother that he often saw lighted candles going into Liosaphostha and when the candles were in the middle of it a loud whistle would be heard, not a human whistle either. They were talking and laughing for about five minutes and when they started for the fair the boys walked down before them and turned on to the fort.
Forts are always built on high ground in view of one another. There is a story told about a fort on Jack Cblossick's land. This fort is in Curragoola.
