    are not made in the district nowadays. Flax was grown round here for linen shirts. Black is worn at the death of a relative: women wear all black clothes but men only wear a piece on his left arm. There is no special clothes worn on feast days but green is worn on St. Patrick's day.
    The tailor does not stock cloth but he keeps patterns and would send away for cloth if you ordered it from him. The women wear linen, silk, prints, and woolens. The men wear tweed and corduroy.
