- During the Penal days there lived a Protestant Minister called Mr. Foster and he was always trying to turn the Catholics. Mr. Foster's Church was in Ballinamore. Pat O'Donnell was the clear of the church. Pat was very poor. One day Pats wife was making bread. Pat was gathering some sand on the road. Mr. Foster met him and asked him who he wanted the sand for. He told him he wanted it to mix wit flour to make a cake. Mr. Foster said he would give him a sauspan full of flour every day if he did not say the rosary. Pat promised. He got his sauspan full of Flour every day. One nigh the Vicor was passing by Pat's house and he heard Pat and his wife saying the rosary. The next day Mr. Foster said to Pat. "I heard you say the rosary last night". "You did not" said Pat. It was the wife that said it and I answered it." The Vicor said he would like to give Pat a cow if he went to his service every Sunday. Pat agreed. The next Sunday Pat was in at Fr. Leonards early mass. After mass he was waiting for service in the Vicor's Church. Mr. Foster heard taht past was at Fr. Leonards mass. He asked him why and Pat answered(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
