    Matches are made in my districts but they are very few. Long ago girls were not allowed to choose husbands themselves. Their parents did this for them. If a boy or girl made up their minds to get married they would leave a dance-house and go to a friend's house and stay there until they would get married. This was what was called a “Run-away math.” Long ago money was given as dowry. Parents saved every penny they could for their daughters. If they had not enough of money they would give a cow, or calf or the help of the girl's horse for a year.
    There are many customs observed on the wedding day. All the young people of the village and all the friends were invited. In the evening the wedding usually took place
