    Extracting of thorns.
    A foxe's tongue is very useful for extracting a thorn that is too short to be caught by any other article.
    A Sty.
    When a sty comes on a person's eye nine thorns are picked off a gooesberry bush and are pointed to the sty. This is done nine mornings in succession and on the last morning ten are picked and this tenth one
