“Once up on a time there lived a widow and her son in Kilcumin.”

They looked at the pot it was a pot of gold.One day the widow was out in the field a beggar came in come in he said he would give him some of the cockles. The beggar said that he was tired and he wanted to sleep a while the boy told him that he could.So he went up to the room and slept. The boy said that he would mind him and he would not let any one a near him. A fly lay on his forhead. The boy went up to the room again and struck him on the forhead and killed him.
