- An old story
Once upon a time there lived on a poor fisherman in Blacksod, and one day when he was coming home from the sea a seal followed him and went into the house after him. That night the children of the house were petting the seal and for about six months the seal came in every night and lied beside the fire till morning and when morning came he went out into the sea again, but while the seal was coming into the house all the fisherman's stock were dying till one day a local man advised him to kill the seal because it is said that anybody who has anything to do with a seal does be always unlucky with their stock.
