- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Golden Wonders. When we are digging the potatoes we make holes in the fields and put them into the holes. We put scraws or rushes on the potatoes so that the clay will not get in among the potatoes or if it did the potatoes would start growing in the holes. We turn them four or five times during the year or if we didn't the potatoes would grow. Later on in the year we bring them home to the garden. My mother makes Starch out of the potatoes. Sometimes my mother makes a cake of boxty out of potatoes and flour.
