- There is a lot of herbs growing in our land. The commonest ones are, the Copóg, the chicken - weed, the Gaisirlíne, the American Clover, and the mountain sedge.The Copóg is a very common weed. It grows only in the meadow and in oats. It smothers crops and makes the land bad. There is no cure in it.The Chicken - weed grows only in good soil. It grows mostly in potatoes and cabbage. There is a cure in it for swollen feet or hands.The Gaisirlíne grows in hay-garden mostly. If young geese eat it, it would poison them. It does no harm to the land.The American clover grows in meadow. It smothers the land and makes the hay bad.(continues on next page)
