Araglen, Kilworth, Co. Cork. It takes its name from a ball-alley which is in a part of it. It was a noted place for ball-playing as late as seventy five years ago. Old people say some of the best games were won and lost there. Players from Cork, Waterford, Limerick and Tipperary used to meet there and play for very large bets. They would put their farms and stock in one game of twenty one aces. That is why it got its name.
Another field in our land is called the Mass Field. They said that Father Sheehy used to say Mass there in the Penal days and as it is a high field with a lovely deep hollow in a corner of it surrounded by white thorn bushes and elm trees it suited the purpose.
    Pairc Yard
This field is in our land at Doon, Araglen, Kilworth, Co. Cork. It got its name because it is a very hilly field.
