- There is a well in Ballyheena and it is called St. Mochua's Well. People go there on the 10th Februrary and say the round of their beads around the well. St. Mochua is the patron saint of this parish of Clashmore. There is a cement cover over the well to protect it from cattle, and a high wall around it, which was built by the Earl of Huntingdon. People say that this well was on the top of the village one time but it is said that one Sunday evening a woman came out and washed some clothes in it. In the morning when the people came out they found that it was shifted down to Ballyheena.
