- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)be also destroyed by Cromwell and his soldiers during the penal times. Before it was destroyed the sacred vessels used be kept in a cave above the road. The cave is about a hundred yards long and is narrow at the opening but as it goes in there is room for a man to stand up.Of all these old ruins Clonea Castle is in the best condition. Outside the castle long ago there was a flight of stairs leading to the top. Some of them are to be seen still. When the stairs were new and sound a cow went up to the top of the castle and she had to be let down with long thick ropes. There are also the ruins of old houses around here. The remains of one old house is in the townland of Killerguile on the cross roads. About fifty yards down from the cross there are the ruins of another. There are also the ruins of a couple of old houses in the townland of Kilclooney in an old road(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
