- Bridgetown and Glenstown were formerly in the Curraghmore estate under Lord Waterford. This family were settled in the district shortly after the Norman invasion. The founder of the family was a Norman noble named De Lo Poer or Power and a big portion of east Waterford was known as Powers country. The village of Clonea is known as Clonea Power to this day. Several branches of the family were settled through-out the barony of Upper Third and elsewhere. There was a branch in Munsburough and another in Rathgormack. Some of these lost their estates in the penal times. Some of the Lords of Curraghmore were fairly good landlords and others were bad.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
