- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)this connection about how the second Lord Waterford put a youth to death. The following is the story:-A certain widow woman had a son who was very wild. She brought him to Lord Waterford to chastise him. He said he would quiten him and then had him hanged before her eyes underneath the arch in Curraghmore courtyard. The poor woman not expecting this and being almost mad with grief, went on her knees and cursed him to the seventh generation praying that he and his descendants would meet violent deaths. The old woman spoke in Irish and when the Lord inquired of his servants what she was saying they replied: "Praying for you my Lord."It is a curious fact that all the ruling Lords down to a few years ago met their death by violence. It is also said that previous to their deaths the figure of a woman has been seen and her voice heard in the neighbourhood of Curraghmore(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
