- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)present, we have frost nearly every night. We have to cover the flowers every night because the frost does a great deal of harm to them. If there is ice in November that will bear a duck, there will be nothing but slush and mud.
- If there are stars in the sky there is going to be frost. If it is a watery sun, it is a sure sign of rain. When the sky is red, it is a sign of frost. When the clouds and moon meet together thunder and lightening are caused. A rainbow comes out after a sun shower. A rainbow in the morning is a shepherds warning and a rainbow in the evening is a shepherds delight. When the north winds blow we shall have snow. When the east wind blows it gives you a toothache.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
