They did not know what to do until someone said to bring in the priest, which he did. The priest came and coming into the room put some portion of his dress at each opening of the room, his hat on the chimney piece his coat on the door and his stick on the window, then he started to pray and kept on praying until the Devil said he would go. He first wanted to go through the window but if he did he would bring the wall with him. He next wanted to go up the chimney but if he did he would bring the roof with him, but the priest would only let him go down through the heartstone. So at last he said he would go that way. And there is still a crack in
