- There was a ship and it was a smuggler's ship and aboard it were many chests filled with gold and jewels. It was out at the Mugglins when a storm broke out. They did not mind and kept on coming towards the convent. When they came to the foot of the convent the boat hit a rock. Some of the smugglers jumped out and others were hit by the mast. This was on the fifth of October. Some of the nuns heard the shouting and all ran out. There used to be a bell in the grounds of the convent and when this bell would be rung the people would come(continues on next page)
