“Once upon a time there was a woman and a man living in a house in Glenfin.”
(ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)house. The man couldn't get up passed the room door in the morning with the glass. All the vessels that were on the dresser were all broken. The man said that was no harm that it could be swept out. To make a long story short when he went into the byre to fodder the cattle there were three of them dead, and there was only one left. When he came in he told his wife and he said, "All the better"- that the other cow will have more to get. He went into the stable to give hay to the donkey and he was dead. "All the better shure everyone has to die". That morning they saw the witch coming up to the house and she told them what happened. The man made for a stick and the witch struck him with her stick and killed him.
