One could only wonder at this because of its great distance from roads or towns. He came and went by boat mostly. The doorless and window less building looks very lonely now but even so lately as fifteen years ago quite a quantity of beautiful woodwork such as doors and flooring and staircases was removed by boat at night to be used in house building. Flags tiles spouting from Belles Isle can be seen in numbers of houses and the great doors had to be cut down and altered(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
