- In the townland og Greigstown, and in the property of Mr Patrick Brogan there is a fort called the "Fairy Fort". It is said to have been there over eight hundred years. One time there were men trying to knock down a tree which was growing in the middle of the fort, and no matter what they did they could not toss it. The owner of the land said he could toss the tree, and the first pull he gave, it fell on him and knocked him powerless. This was supposed to have been done by the power of the fairies because he interfered with their fort.
There is a little field, the property of Frank Flood of Drumbar. In the middle of it there is a fort, and often there are lights seen in it, and the people think it is the fairies.
In the townland of Rathneeny there is a very large fort, which is the property of Miss Farrell. One night a man called(continues on next page)- Collector
