    directions. The black cow went in the direction of Lismore. The first morning an old woman saw her, and the milk was dripping from the udder. The cow stood out before the old woman and asked her to milk her. She fetched a pail and milked the cow. When she looked at the pail it was full of butter. The cow asked her to come three times a day and milk her. On each occasion she carried home a pail of butter instead of a pail of milk. The fame of this little black cow spread through the whole country.
