  1. The name of our farm animals at home are cows, sheep, horses, young pigs, sows, bullocks, heifers and calves. The cows have got names and these names are Spotty, Ronnie, Peggy and there is one cow which has no horns and we call her Polly. When I'm driving the cows to the field I say “How! How! Or “Go on lassies.” When I am calling the calves to their drinks I say “Suggie, Suggie” or “Come on Come on.”
    The cow-house is made from stone and lime and there is a slated roof on it. There is a stand for every cow and a window at each cow's head. It is called the byre. The cows are tied to stakes and there is a chain for each of their necks. The cows are tied by their necks and some tie them by their horns but
