An important point in connection with this "cure" was that no payment should be made by the person looking for the cure to the person who applied the "cure".
The old man who told me about this cure told me that he had suffered from the disease himself and had been cured by the "rub". He told me the name of the man who had the "cure". I was very much surprised as I knew this man well (he died a couple of years ago) and had never before heard him mentioned in connection with "a cure for evil."
