- There is a large rock on the summit of James Tinney's mountain, Meenbane, known as the Giant's Rock. This is how it got its name.
Hundreds of years ago a Giant was travelling across the Meenbane mountains and on his way he passed this rock. His comrades forced him to try his strength and skill in breaking the rock and to satisfy them, he went forward and put a hand on each side of it. He pulled full strength each way and, behold! the rock rent asunder before their eyes.
The imprints of his ten fingers are visible on the rock to this day, five on each part.- Faisnéiseoir
