This kind of bread was made on certain occasions.
The boxty bread was made in another way - the above mentioned old lady told me. The raw potatoes were grated after having been thoroughly washed.
The liquid was drained out of the grated potatoes or squeezed out. They put the grated potatoes in a dish, and mixed a little flour with them. They kneaded this mixture and dropped it on a greased griddle which was fairly hot.
This was turned when cooked on one side. The goose oil would have been used only at Christmas. The Boxty Mill began to shill
