    The person who gets the ring is going to be first married and the man who gets the button is going to be a bachelor and if a woman gets it she is going to be an old-maid and the person who gets the match is going to be married first.
    In olden times there were nothing such as rings. When the couple would go to be married the priest would take the ring off his horses bit and put it on the bride's fingers. Some people would get a horse and two side-creels. The woman would sit in one creel and her "donage" (belongings) would be in the other one. On their way home some of the people would be flying flags, others singing and playing tin whistles.
    In olden times some people used to get married in their own homes. On the wedding day the groom would go to the bride's house and the priest would come and marry them there. Some people would go to a house where stations were held and get married.
    Once upon a time a man was going to steal his bride who lived in Meenletterbale. They used to steal their bride
