were beginning to fish a black man rose up to the waste in the water. The man who was at the stern of the boat saw this man and he was the only one who did see him. He had every teeth and that was a sign that he was not to be drowned. Instead of telling his crew what he had seen he told them that he was sick and that he was coming home. When he came into the port he told them what he had seen and they would not believe him. He went home. That day was called "The big Drowning Day" because the were seven boats lost but one. When the crew came ashore the people asked them where the other boats were and they said "If they are not in now they will never be in and the never came in. Thes boats were lost between Glenagivney and Shrove.
Once upon a time there was a man herding cattle at the port. In the evening when he was taking home his cattle he saw a boat with four men in it. These four men were rowing as hard as the could. He went over to see who was in the boat. When he went over he saw nothing at all. This was a sidhe boat with four fairies. It was a sign to him that his son was to be drowned. The next morning was very good and his son gathered his crew and went out to fish. While they were fishing the boat capsized and his son was lost. The other got up on the boat and was saved.
