- Shipwreck.
During the recent stormy weather there was much talk about ships and the rough time they had at sea though there had been no loss of life or mishaps to any of the ships trading in this river though some of them had a very trying time, during the conversation about ships. I asked an old fisherman if he could relate of any shipwreck he remembered and the following is what he related.
On the 11th Dec. 1908 a new she which was built in Londonderry was being tower out, bound for Newcastle-on-Tyne to be engined there as no engines were put in ships in Derry at that time, and(continues on next page)- Collector
