    water and wash their feet. They used to say that if you did this you would sleep very sound, and because they were working hard they did this and then they would be rested for the following day's work.
    They people used to wear wooden shoes called "cloggs". In Irish they called them "noclai". When the people would walk in those shoes they were very heavy and it was only in Winter that they were woren. There were no leather shoes and that is why they wore wooden shoes.
