- There was a house being built in Malin Head and the masons took stones from a rock in which tradition says fairies dwell. Every night chapping with a hammer could be heard for miles around and it frightened many people and many were afraid to go out after dark.
- In penal times there was a line of standing stones laid from the Friar's house to Caramore to guide the priests to the hills. It is said that a man tried to dig a stone and he dug for a day and could not get to the bottom of it.
The next morning when he rose, where he had been digging was filled in again.- Collector
