- Travelling folk still call to our home, and they have been doing so for many years past. They are not very poor. They sell small articles, and the people usually buy from them. Among the many things sell are, brooches, Rosary-Beads, mirrors, prayer-books, purses, and pictures.
The names of the best known of them are, the Maughans, Stokes, and Gypsies. One man named John Riley, frequently visits out district. He goes around gathering bottles, and wherever he gets a bottle, he generally gives a few needles in return. This man is not poor, and he has a house of his own in Westport.
