    One February many years ago there came a great wind. Never before was there witnessed one so bad. At that time nearly almost every house was thatched. The roofs were blown off the houses and not even one remained on. The year wore on and still the houses remained roofless. Summer came at last and only by that time was the task of restoring the roofs completed.
    So far back as the year 1847 there came to Rush a terrible disease called the cholera. Nearly every second person in Rush died of it. Strange to say all the other towns around were not
