- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)top. There are eight of these openings so that a sentry inside could see in all directions. From this tower it is said there were three tunnels, one to Mulhuddart graveyard, one to Glasnevin, and one to Clondalkin under the Liffey.
It is said that Saint Patrick when passing by the castle called and asked to see the king. The maid who answered the call having returned said the king was asleep. St Patrick made answer that he could sleep till the day of judgement.
The people believe that the sleeping king is still in the ruins.
