16th December 1937The beliefs in our district about the weather are;- If the moon looks pale or dim we expect (wind) rain; if it is red we expect wind; if it is bright we expect frost. If the moon and stars grow dim we expect rain. If theres a haziness in the air which shades the sun's light and makes the sun appear whitish, rain will follow.
Signs of rain:- the hollow winds begin to blow, the clouds look black; the moon in hollow hides its head; the dogs eat(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
