  1. In a place called the Grallah which is about two miles distance from the Oldtown Co Dublin. there is an old ancient cemetery. There is still to be seen out-side its gate a huge big stone. In this stone there is a hole in the shape of a person's arm right through.
    How this hole came to be in this stone is, I am told, that Saint Patrick while in Ireland was passing this way on horseback.
    When a burial was taking place, getting down off his horse he put his hand through this stone which he tied his horse to.
