- (continued from previous page)about half an inch long. Collected by Noel Dean, 8 Turnipin Lane, Santry, Co. Dublin
21.3.38 - On the main north road, about a quarter of a mile from the little village of Santry and within a few yards of the old R.I.C. Barracks, there is a stream passing under the road, which forms a beautiful little valley or hollow, which is locally known as the "Robber's Hollow".It is so called because it was one of the places where 'Collier the Highway-Man' of about eighty years ago, used to hold-up the stage coach and gentry passing that way. It is also said to be haunted. It is a most unlucky spot, and has been the scene of many road accidents. Collected by Joe Rooney, Woodlawn, Santry, Co. Dublin.
