Sixpence is called a "tanner"
Twopence is called a "Duce"
A penny is called a "wing"
A half-penny is called a "make"
A pound is called a "quid"
Ten shillings are called "half a quid"
Five pounds is called a "fiver"
If a man was saying he had no money he would say:

Two shillings and sixpence is called a "half dollar"
