- There is a well near Tuam that is called St Bernard's well. It is on the hill of Knock-crow near Abbey. The people go on pilgrimages on the 1st of August every year. They go around the well seven times and say seven our Fathers and seven Hail Marys and seven Glorias.
It is said that St Bernard stuck his rod into the earth. It went through the earth and sprang up in Knock-crow and a well came there. St Bernard prayed in it. The people bring home the water and use it as holy water.- Faisnéiseoir
