- There is a holding of land about a quarter of a mile from Caherdine named "Crucán na sionnac" which means "the den of the foxes". The reason it is called that is. There is a foxes den in one of the fields and it is one of the biggest dens around that district. There is a holding of land about a half a mile from Killeeneen and one of the fields name is "Gort na Sideóg". It is called that because it is said that there was a fairy seen there one time.
There is a stone in a field called "Cloc Mead" and it is from the stone the field got it's name. That stone came there with the flood.
There is a holding of land about a mile from Caherdine called "Tante". It is called that because the soil in it is warm.
