- Cappagh WellAt the present time there are two wells within a few feet of each other. One is surrounded by a wall about four feet high with an opening, and steps descending to the bottom. There is also an opening like a window about 1.5 feet square in the side of the surrounding wall. This well has dried up. one story is that it dried up after a woman had washed her feet in the water. Another story says that it dried when some young people misconducted themselves there. Some obtain that this dried up well was the true holy well while others maintain that the second well is the original holy well. This second well has no surround but has a splendid flow of water which is not used by the people for domestic purposes as it is said that it will not boil. The wells are under an immense ash tree in a piece of 'waste' ground which is said to have been covered with trees at one time.
