- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)there is another old fort about 300 yds. from my door. It is called Liosnagáiridh. Long ago the fairies held their meetings there. people used hear them talking and laughing, hence the name.

There is a fort in our townland it is called a Rath. When people die cries are heard at night in it. It is said it is a bean-side who cries.
There is another fort in the townland of Lissard, it is called a Rios. There is a fence of earth all around, trees grow around it too. There is an entrance hole in the centre of the fort. It is built with stones at the opening and there are rooms in it.
One man went down to explore, he had a candle in his hand and a breeze of wind came and quenched it, he lit it again and the same thing happened so he got nervous and came out. It is said that it was occupied by the Danes. There is an underground passage leading away for about a mile to another entrance. the owner, Patrick Kelly of Lissard never interferes with it.
