There was a terrible drought period in the year 1931. All the wells and loughs were dried up by the heat. Cattle and Sheep died and many birds. People had to travel a long distance for water. The last big storm was in 1903. It was in the month of March. There were a lot of trees knocked in Ballinderry wood. It blew the roof off our henhouse. There was an other storm known as " the big wind". It blew the roof off Martin Cammel's house, BallyglassUna Egan
