    and went back to his hole in the ground. Lonn continued his plowing but up came the monster again and swallowed the other horse. When Lonn quickly took off his belt and threw it at the serpent crying, "squeeze squeeze my little belt. The belt went around the serpent's neck so that it nearly choked him. Lonn yoked him to the plough and round the field went the monster and Lonn and his belt kept him at it until the field was ploughed. Lonn drove him home and frightened the serpent to be released and went like a flash of lightning to his cave.
    Next day the magician sent Lonn to bring home sheep from the mountains. But before he could look for one sheep a ram as big as a elephant attached him and would have him killed only for the belt which choked him so severly that Lonn rode him home. The magician forgave Lonn and he let the ram off.
    The third day Lonn was sent to cut wood in the forest. Here a ferocious lion
