- The food of long ago was different by far from the food of the present day. Long ago people ate three meals a day. The meals were, the breakfast which was eaten at six o' clock every morning. The dinner which was eaten at one o'clock, and the supper which was eaten at eight o' clock. People often worked in the morning before having food.
Each meal consisted of potatoes and the chief drink was buttermilk. People sat round the table in the centre of the floor. Brown bread was made and eaten. Meat was seldom used. This consisted of bacon but fresh meat was never used. Fish(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
